Legally Blonde - the Musical

Back last summer, we renewed our season tickets for the GTA, and though we missed the first performance back in October because of that emergency trip down to Florida, we didn't miss tonight's production of "Legally Blonde."  And just as with the last several years, completely uncoordinated, we still managed to show up the same night as Camille and her mom!

It was a fun night!  This was more of a PG-13 play, so Daddy was a little on edge with Madison sitting there with us, but at the same time, Madison is thirteen.  Mommy and Daddy saw the movies, and in fact we brought them up to the living room, although we hadn't had time to watch them.  It was probably better this way for Madison, so she could watch the story unfold on stage without any real idea of what would happen next.

And here's the star of the night, Bruiser.  His real name is Frankie, but he plays the part of Elle's dog, Bruiser.  From what I understand, this dog tours around and does this show for other productions, and in fact has done more productions of "Legally Blonde" than any other actor on stage!

He did great.  And of course, so did the entire rest of the cast.  As always, the GTA did a fantastic job with this, from backstage prop changes to costuming to music to lighting and performances on stage. It made for a very enjoyable night at the theater.  We're looking forward to the remaining plays that we'll be seeing with our season tickets, and yes, we'll probably be renewing them for next year.  It's a great chance to get out and see the theater, and these productions are so good.  They're so close to us here, and when you consider how much you save by not having to go down to Atlanta, it really is a no-brainer.  And as mentioned before, we've seen the same productions at the Fox and here, and the difference is hardly noticeable.  We're big fans at the moment.

It was a good day up until that point, with decent news from Florida about Ba-Ba.  The cancer has shrunk, he's gaining weight, and he's feeling a little better this week.  You take these victories and you hold on to them during this roller coaster ride.

She had a math quiz today, so we went to school for an early study session.  Daddy was working on Sunday's material, and meanwhile, tonight they're practicing for the Christmas production - at the Gwinnett campus.  The script is being done at four different Free Chapel campuses live, so we have four different casts that are doing this play for different places.  I can say my plays are being performed in numerous locations this Christmas season, from California to South Carolina and Georgia!

"Pink" seems to be the theme of the weekend.  Tomorrow, we'll get Madison's tree up, and we've got another pink destination too.  Daddy and Mommy took advantage of an early Black Friday deal, but we have to go down to Atlanta to pick it up tomorrow.  While there, we thought we'd visit another classic Christmas destination that we haven't been too in several years.  It'll be a fun and quick visit.

But tonight it's late, and we're ready to turn in after a full day.  And yes, we're still singing musical numbers in our heads...
