UNO Domination

We had our amazing Uno game on stage today, one that we intentionally made super overdramatic, and it was a blast.  The music was intense, and even the lighting turned this into something epic.

We based this skit on a comic that's been around a while, one that shows a game of Uno being played by stereotypical Japanese anime characters.  In fact, the first part of this script is pretty much a transcription of that comic, as the lines are just so hilarious.  From there on though, we had fun with it, as our villain character faces off against a lone desperado that comes in to challenge the despot who has been terrorizing the good people for so long.

You can see here how he thinks he has won this all.  But this match is far from over, as he'll soon learn.  It was a lot of fun this morning, and the message was a good one.  Daddy was considering the game Uno, and the idea of being "numero Uno," by giving everything away.  In other words, the last shall be first, and in order to win in life, you should live as Jesus did, and serve others.

We left church this afternoon, and Madison was commenting on the fall colors in our area.  The reds have been nice today, especially against that blue sky.  It's a bit chilly, but not too bad right now.  The colder weather comes later this week, supposedly.  It's supposed to be pretty cold soon.

We had play practice again tonight, and we did some more read-throughs with the group.  We had some on stage, and we divided ourselves into smaller groups, going off to different rooms to practice and run through certain scenes.

Madison is having a great time.  She's doing something she really likes to do, and she's having fun with her friends as well.  Practice is a couple hours long, and today she was on stage reading, projecting, and also pronouncing too.  She's got a fun character, one named Mei Mei.  This is the name she had when she was in Neverland, and in Auradon, and elsewhere.  It's a recurring character name for her, and here she is again with it.  Interestingly enough, there's going to be a Mei Mei in our Gwinnett cast as well.  Camille and Calvin are here in the picture above, but they'll be at different practices from this point on, as they're the ones doing the Gwinnett production.

It was a nice night.  We'll all be together again in two days, as Tuesday nights we have this group with us again.  It's going to be a smaller group, with all the ones speaking coming, and all the ensemble players waiting until next Sunday.

We didn't go straight home after this - instead we were over at Nana and Ye-Ye's house, where Aunt Shain and Hannah were also waiting.  We had a nice, short time together over there.  "Forbidden Planet" was playing, and pumpkin pie was on the menu, along with a gluten-free cake.  We exchanged names for the upcoming Christmas celebration, and we spent a little time catching up on things.  It was short, but sweet.  It's a busy season, so it's difficult to get everyone together.

We left after that, and we continued our reading from Narnia, as well as our devotional.  We prayed for Ba-Ba, as he's starting week #5 of the radiation tomorrow, I think.  He's also meeting with some other doctors.  We've had some good news, but there's been moments of bad news as well.  We'll keep praying for him, and we'll see him soon enough.

It's time for bed.  We all had a pretty full day, only home for a short window.  But now here's a much bigger window, and it's time to use that to catch up on some sleep!
