Georgia Welcomes You

We left a little later today, on our way back home - but minus one passenger.  It's very difficult for all of us to leave Mommy behind, but it simply must be done given the fact that Ba-Ba begins his chemotherapy on Monday.  Only Mommy had been through this, and can help in many ways, from dietary help to encouragement and other things to do.  It was tough - very tough - to watch her in the rear view mirror as we drove away from the condo there at Daytona and start our road trip home, but away we went.

It was probably the smoothest journey we've ever had northward.  Thankfully, we saw rain, and everyone is grateful for that and grateful for the cooler temperatures sweeping into the state.  But we were in Georgia very quickly, as you can see above.  We sent Mommy this update from the state line, and then, of course, there was the other mandatory stop we made:

Here we called up Mommy with our device and were talking with her on the computer screen, letting her know things were going okay.  And indeed they were.  We had passed by the Georgia National Fair in full swing, the Cirque du Soleil Grand Chapiteau, the Magnolia Plantation, a rainbow, and also a car along the interstate in Atlanta completely engulfed in flames. We even saw the Avengers building - or at least the Porsche Experience Center, as some car aficionados like to call it.  But we know it's really where Captain America was working with his fellow Avengers, as seen in one of the Captain America movies.

We got home through the thicker slog of Atlanta traffic and once again called Mommy, which we'll be doing relentlessly through the next two weeks or so.  This house seems so incredibly empty without her here, and her absence is a dull ache in our hearts.

We set up the computer and read together tonight, so Mommy could hear too.  She joined us in our night time prayers and even gave Madison a virtual zerbert.  It's going to be a tough time for all of us, but we'll stay in contact as often as we can.  It's good to be back home, but it will be better when Mommy is with us.
