Abominable

We saw the movie "Abominable" today at the Cobb Daytona Luxury Theater, and it was really a nice experience.  Firstly, the movie itself was good.  It's set in China, so automatically there's something we're all in on.  Add to this the theme of a Yeti/Big Foot character, which seems to be a theme with us lately.  The animation was very well done, and the landscapes of China are always wonderful to see again.  It was a nice movie, made nicer by the experience of a "luxury" theater.  We were sort of joking about a luxury theater - I mean, what is there to a luxury theater that makes it that much nicer. It's about the same price as a regular theater, at least the matinee showing was.  But the seats were ginormous, and the aisles were so spaced out that your automatic chairs could stretch out their footrests and you could really stretch out while seeing your movie.  Cupholders were there, and the stadium seating was such that even if someone sat in front of you, there was no worry about an obstructed view.  In short, it really was a luxury theater!

We had a great time at the movies, and it's about 15 minutes away, so I'm thinking we'll be back soon.  We did get back afterwards, and that's when we found out our plans for the future have been altered a bit.  In short, Ba-Ba's chemotherapy begins on Monday.  Communication has been so limited with his doctors that this was called into question - in fact, it was supposed to start last Monday, which gave us all the more reason to be down here.  But now it's this upcoming Monday, and what that means is this:  Mommy is staying in Daytona.  It only makes sense for her to do this, to help guide her father through the process, as she's been through it herself.  She can let him know what he's experiencing is normal, and that he will make it through.  Just as importantly, she can use her gifts in the kitchen to make food items that he'll be able to eat, or at least help him with the regiment of keeping his daily caloric intake up to its minimum requirement.  At present, he's losing weight dramatically, and it's all due to his inability to eat that much, due to his esophagus.  The feeding tube will help, as will Mommy of course.

We've never been apart this long, and it will be very tough to leave Mommy here.  We set up the computers so we can talk and see each other without using a telephone.  These computers have a great way of contacting one another, and we can "bring Mommy along" when we carry the computer upstairs or wherever.  She can sit there for prayers with us, or bedtime stories or whatever.  And we can be right there with her in Daytona.

It's going to be tough, but we're going to do our best.  We know God is with us.
