This afternoon we went to see the new Grinch movie, which actually wasn't bad. Actually... it was pretty good! We've seen the live action one repeatedly, as well as the original cartoon. This one uses updated CGI, and fits within the animated worlds of "The Lorax" and "Horton Hears a Who," a few movies that were just recently released as well. There was a good crowd to see the movie, which makes sense as it is opening weekend for this one as well. We had our popcorn and our usual seats, and it was a nice time heading out to the movies.
Afterwards, we went to do a bit of shopping for KidPak, but soon were home where we spent the rest of the day. Madison spent a little bit of time putting up her new tree, which she decorated nicely.
It's a bigger tree, and so the ornaments aren't quite so squeezed onto it. It's a taller and brighter tree too, one that she likes in the corner of her bedroom. She spent some time going through the ornaments, her favorite being the Winter the Dolphin ornament one that you can see above towards the top of the tree. Anyway, now there are three trees up in the house. One to go...!
We did a few more things today, working on piano, putting out Christmas frames and decorations, listening to Christmas music, and a bit of work towards the next Dr. Seuss series as well. We're doing a Christmas Movie Bash at KidPak, one we decided on today based on a quick trip to the library: while there returning about sixteen Dr. Seuss books, we spotted a few Christmas movies that I haven't seen yet, one of them being a recent one, "The Star." We'll check it out tomorrow night, I think, but that might be a good choice for our Christmas Bash.
Anyway, it was a nice day today, a little cold of course. It's supposed to be colder still upcoming, which is getting everyone in that "Christmas time" frame of mind. It's a little tougher to be in the Christmas spirit when it's eighty degrees outside.
Tonight we read more, Madison hid from Daddy, and we said our prayers and blamed each other for zerbert noises, the usual thing. We have the bigger blankets on the beds, even with the new furnaces in the house. It's almost time to put a fire in the fireplace as well, which will be nice. Winter is coming...!
