It was Senior Night tonight at Half-Mile Stadium, with a sunset provided by "The East Forsyth Art Department," according to the announcer behind us. Maddie was here tonight to support her friends in band, and she eventide her way down there to take some selfies with them early on.
Nana and Ye-Ye had been wanting to come to a game, so they met us here tonight, and we all sat together to enjoy Friday Night Lights. East Forsyth was playing Chestatee tonight, who were visiting and actually a better team than the score suggests.
Within the first thirty seconds, for example, the War Eagles scored on us quickly making the score 7-0. But that would be the last time they scored. By the end of the game, the score was 34-7, with the Broncos celebrating senior night with a dominating finish. It actually rained a bit on us, although the drops were so minor that it was nearly unnoticeable. The temperature and that sunset were perfect, and it made for a nice time together.
The rest of the day was more the typical school day and work day. We're trying different things with my digestive system, but it's been a kind of iffy. We had a good day otherwise. Maddie and I are now caught up on those "Rings of Power" episodes, and we read a chapter of our book tonight before prayers and bedtime.
The atmosphere at the game had more of a police presence. The flag has been at half-mast the last few days. It's unfortunate that we're here at this point, but here we are.
Maddie is watching "National Treasure" in one of her classes, which sounds like fun. She's doing well in her government class - she got a near perfect score on her first quiz, and she knew which one she missed right away too. It appears her calculus class is the biggest challenge this year. She's been sharing artwork with me from this year, and I think I heard that one of her pieces is going to be on display too, which is awesome.
We got to sleep tonight after prayers. Time to get some rest! Go Broncos!
