Camera Obscura Images

Maddie tried out her new homemade camera today.  Or, at least school-made.  Anyway, she made a camera obscura, with the small pinhole opening and everything, and she got some photographic paper and tried it out.  You can see her first ever results up above, and it's pretty nifty!  By the way, here are the reverse negatives of the above...

Which is pretty cool.  She's going to get some more tries with the camera obscura, but these were really fun first attempts.

So tonight she had a special grand master visit taekwondo for a session of training, and for that quite a few students showed up.  Here's the group picture at the end:

I was actually at the Divine Conference, which also started today, so I missed out on this one.  But someone else was on hand to take a big group picture, and that was pretty cool  Maddie enjoyed it, and then got a ride to join me at the church for a while.  I was too tired to serve the entire time though, as I've been up late with this mystery jaw thing the last three nights.

But don't worry.  It has a happy ending.  I think.  So basically, my jaw got out of line.  I have no idea how, nor do I even know what that means.  I just know that when I was bringing my jaw together, it wasn't lining up.  Weird, huh?  All the pressure was going to my back teeth for some reason, which resulted in some of the most intense nerve pain in my head, a throbbing that has kept me up the last few nights.  Brutal.

So Mom got me to go to Doc Williams today, and get this:  he did this thing where he basically rearranged my jaw.  Yeah, he had one hand pressing down on my head while the other hand was pushing my jaw in the other direction, which is to say the appropriate direction.  And sure enough, after a great deal of pressure, there was this big CLICK sound.  And that was the sound of my jaw getting back in place.

WHAT?  What the heck is going on here?  I was thinking dentistry or some elaborate muscular thing or whatever, and all it took was a visit to a chiropractor?  Answer:  apparently!  I seem to be doing much, much, much better now.  I can' even begin to explain any of this other than to say, I'm dong okay now.  So weird!  But grateful!

So it was a late night, or at least it was a tired night.  I was tired.  We did finish up this Kingdom Keepers book, and now we have the long wait for book three.  I don't know if the next one will be the final one or not, but it certainly was a bittersweet moment for us, as we kind of enjoy this series.  I'll add it to the many others on the shelf now, quite a big collection!  We enjoyed the book, and again, we miss the old Kingdom Keepers, but this next generation is growing on us.

Anyway, after that, it was time for prayers, and bed.  Got to get some sleep!
