Labor Day

Here the kids are for their traditional group shot before leaving camp.  You can see Maddie towards the front and center with the blue hat on.  I zoomed in from this larger picture below:

It's a big group!  They had a safe and easy ride home, and of course a lot of it was quiet, with the students largely sleeping due to exhaustion!  Maddie slept too.

I kept tabs on them with the phone app that lets you know where the buses are geographically.  I was following them as they made their way south and back home.  Meanwhile, we were doing a lot of yard work today.  We have a new bridge in the back yard, and we cut some large tree branches back.  We still have a bit to go, but we worked pretty hard creating what will be a run-off for water and a nice little bridge over that rocky bed.  You'll see soon enough.

I picked up Maddie from the church, and from there the rest of the day was pretty relaxed.  Maddie had a lot to say, of course.  She had a great, great time.  She was telling us stories the rest of the day and showing us lots of pictures, which you've seen here on the blog.  It was a really awesome weekend for her, and we're super glad of that.

The rest of the day was quiet.  We watched "Monsters University" tonight, and Maddie forgot how funny the character Art was, laughing out loud quite a bit at some great lines.  We love this movie, and of course in a few days we'll watch the original "Monsters, Inc."  The movies are really great.

We got back to reading tonight, diving into the latest exploits of the next generation of Kingdom Keepers.  We said our prayers and got to sleep early tonight.  It came easily for Maddie and I'm assuming all the campers tonight - it was a long and super fun weekend!
