We started out our Sunday where we always do, right there at KidPak. You can see above that we had a pretty crazy game segment involving lots of water - an outpouring, as it were. In fact, that was the theme of the morning, a service all about waiting for the outpouring. Madison was a character in the skit, one that had us marching through the audience back and forth seven times to look for an outpouring, just like Elijah's servant. This Storm Chasers series has been so much better than it was the last time we did it, although it was really good last time. It's just that this time we were able to do some new things that have improved upon it greatly. It's been super fun!
Of course, tonight was also the youth service. You can see Madison's small group session to the left there, and the new "YOUTH" sign there on the stage. We've been doing this now for several weeks, and there has been a lot of positive feedback about it. Maddie really enjoys it. During the large group session, they started things out with a game, an audience scavenger hunt. Each side of the room raced to see who would be the first person to the front with a particular object, like a sock or a shoelace. One object that was called out was a Bible, and sure enough, Maddie got that Bible up there first.
It's a long day. We get home and we're ready to just sit down and do largely nothing. Mom had a wonderful meal for us, some raviolis with spinach and cheese inside. We finished up our "Pirates" marathon tonight by watching the fifth movie, which is another good one. We even watched "Tales of the Code: Wedlocked," just to complete the entire run. But I have a feeling we're not done with pirates just yet, as Maddie and I have been going through the LEGO Pirates game a bit this afternoon, and will probably be doing some of the other games as the week goes on, like the Disney Infinity game, and all the extra features on these Blu-ray Discs. The status of another "Pirates" movie is up in the air currently, but we'd love to see Jack Sparrow again on the big screen, at that rendezvous beyond the horizon.
It was raining today, and that's great, as we've been behind on that. It went with our morning theme at KidPak - an outpouring! Regardless of the rain, it was a nice, full day today. We concluded it with prayers, and with reading of course. We'll have another good day tomorrow!
