Explosions

Welp, it finally happened.  I have never hit another car before, but today was a milestone.  It wasn't anything bad.  The car in front of me turned into traffic, and then faked me out by stopping as I was looking to turn into traffic as well.  Still, it was enough to pretty much mess up my day.  I'm trying to stay positive, but it's been difficult lately.

Madison had her taekwondo tonight, and that was fun.  She had leadership and regular black belt class, and in those classes she was practicing her form, her high kicks, and some work with the sword.  Nana was along for the ride.  I had to escort her to the car again, as she was sitting there crying again.  She brightened up as we went over to taekwondo though - we have this screen and it's like a big television screen where she can watch all the different kids practicing, sparring and so forth.

Mom has started working on her next gardening project, and I can't wait to post a picture of it here.  Bit by bit, our yard is being transformed into something amazing.  It started out with Ye-Ye and Nana last year, and now we're getting to it, one section at a time.  After this, we'll start with the fire pit, which I can't wait to have ready when fall comes around.

Tonight we were watching the new episode of "Bad Batch," as we've been for the last few weeks.  It's been a great show.  Afterwards, we were back with Grant Ward and Lash and all things S.H.I.E.L.D.  I just had a small cheer-up moment when I realized that I've now got the sticker paper to make decals to put on the treadmill - I'm going to make it a Marvel themed one.  Obviously, it's already got the Captain America shield on the front, and that's a big decoration.  But the rest will look really good too.

And yes, there's much to be thankful for.  I'm still alive for one.  Also, the yard looks magnificent.  And Maddie is doing well.  She certainly enjoys taekwondo a great deal, and the pain in her wrist is nearly absent.  We're doing much better than a lot of people, so there's a lot to be thankful for.

We prayed tonight, and we read too.  We're approaching the end of this "Kingdom Keepers" book, and there's a hint at a traitor in the midst of the characters.  The funny thing is that I have no idea about this, as I haven't read this book in ages.  So I'm just as clueless as Maddie is as I read this!  It's been a good read though, pulling us along towards the end.  Without any explosions.  I have to add that, because we usually add that in there when reading, just as a joke, usually at the very first part of each chapter:  "Finn and Maybeck waited for Philby, and although Finn wanted to stay put, Maybeck exploded."  We usually read the rest of the chapter without explosions.
