Chia Party

We had a Chia party today!  We set up the new Baby Yoda chia, a gift from last Christmas that we've been holding on to for a day like today.  We followed the instructions as always, and got busy applying the seeds to the lined areas.  You can see Madison here starting out with a toothpick, but it turns out that just using your fingers is probably better.

It turns out that the two teaspoons of seeds that the packaging recommends is actually enough to do more than just one chia pet.  So, we have somewhat of a greatest hits here, revisiting some of our past chia pets, a recent Statue of Liberty one, and the classic Shrek one as well!

We did the Shrek one back in 2011, and the Statue of Liberty more recently in 2019.  We had enough seeds this time to cover all three of them, so we'll keep tabs on them here and share pictures when they've grown a bit more.

Grogu can't wait to have a little more green around.  You know how he likes the color green.

Anyway, it was a day off for all of us, so we kept busy with different tasks, including a trip to Goodwill for Mom and Nana, who went and got some more .75 cent vinyl records, plus a pretty amazing patriotic shirt for me.  Meanwhile, Maddie and I were hooking up the Kinect games again, going through the Star Wars game, but also Disney, plus a new game we found at Goodwill, one with animals.  It's cute, but it's maybe a little too cute for Maddie.  Still, the mechanics are good.  We started the Pirates LEGO game again, and it seems apparent we'll be watching the movies again soon.  Recently, we watched this documentary about the destruction of Port Royal, and it was all new to us.  Fascinating stuff.

Anyway, it was a decent day today, a relaxing one.  Mom was out working under the arbor with Nana looking on.  We had leftovers from yesterday, and that's okay, because it was all really good stuff.  We were listening to our vinyl record collection on and off through the day - we've got some fun ones that we've found at various places, although we're never looking for any one record in particular.

So yeah, tonight was "Pirates of the Caribbean."  I pulled out the collection of movies from downstairs, and I was a pretty avid collector of all the exclusive bonus discs at various spots, so I had all that on DVD, and then I have it all on Blu-Ray.  We're big "Pirates" fans!

We read tonight from "Kingdom Keepers," and it was late, so it was time for bed for me right afterwards, because I'm the only one who has to get up early tomorrow!  We said our prayers, and got to bed right, sleeping pretty quickly.
