National Rotisserie Chicken Day

Today was a holiday worth mentioning, one that we were all too happy to celebrate.  Camille mentioned that it was National Rotisseries Chicken Day, and that sort of launched us on a path of celebration.  I think it's safe to say no one in this state or possibly country celebrated National Rotisserie Chicken Day as we did.  She had in her small group tonight a National Rotisserie Chicken game for the girls, one where they had to pick the right covered platter to reveal which one had a rotisserie chicken beneath it.  The other dishes had an armadillo and/or Tom Holland beneath them.

This was most amusing to Madison.  It was a fun night for small groups though, and yes, right after that it was dinner time.  I had picked up a rotisserie chicken on the way home, so we celebrated this momentous holiday in the finest way.  Dinner was actually pretty delicious!

We're continuing our "Pirates" movie series tonight with "Dead Man's Chest," which sadly does not feature a rotisserie chicken.  But it's still a great movie!

We were working on some upcoming events for KidPak today, including a new development that's been requested - a "VBS" event for this summer in July.  We're not quite sure about the details at this point, but we'll be putting it together very soon, amongst other things.  Lots going on, of course.  Madison is registered for the Forward Conference, and there's a new series coming up, one that Camille was creating a new graphic for, "Legends of Oz."

We're getting closer and closer to the date where we premiere this new series, and to think, I wrote it about a year ago thinking we might not ever do this series.  I just wrote it for fun, to be honest, including a devotional and everything.  And here we are, making this series a reality.  It's just so great to see.

Tonight we read from "Kingdom Keepers," of course, and after that we said our prayers and went to bed.  It was a solid day, one made even more fun with a nice rotisserie chicken!
