It's Mad Hatter Day, and we had a great celebration tonight after taekwondo. We had some music playing all day - in fact, during our tea party tonight I found that old vinyl record from Disney that was a story album with songs and so forth. There are plenty of channels online that have ambience and visuals from Wonderland, and meanwhile the table was loaded with moon cakes, Chessmen cookies, and of course tea.
Mom had the table all decorated with a tea set, the Mad Hatter's hat, and a couple plush friends too. It was a nice little tea party there, and after that we watched "Alice in Wonderland: Through the Looking Glass," the story with the Chronosphere and Time and all that. We actually like this story quite a bit.
The rest of the day was not quite as mad. We did go to taekwondo tonight, although I was off at grocery shopping while Maddie was kicking people. She's doing great though, really effective with her board-breaking skills. In fact, she may lead the class on that a bit on Thursday. While shopping, I got the October cheeses, which I was delighted to see available - and of course I bought these three!
Freaky Franken Sage Derby, Bat Knit Crazy Cheddar and Death by Garlic! That will be for a later time, of course!
Maddie was at college today, and after that we went home to get some rest - she had a long weekend with some late nights. But she was working on a small bit of homework. My homework was done too - treadmill walking (while watching "The Cat from Outer Space"), and I finished up 1 Kings today with the commentary. Mom is starting up some packing for an upcoming trip. And she got a big batch of new coffee flavors for the season too! We've got a whole lot of Bones coffee flavors that we can't wait to try. Maddie's excited about that. Of course, right now she's most excited about those Chessmen cookies. She's fairly addicted to those.
Oh, and that pumpkin protein shake. Oh my goodness. I don't think I've written about this yet. Maddie and I have a pumpkin spice shake in the morning, and it's absolutely delicious. It's so delicious that Mom had to order a second package of it, this large package of powder that you shake up and down in a container that she purchased (no blender required), and boom! Instant breakfast, filling, refreshing, and really delicious.
So good! Like I said, we're on our second bag of this now, and we just started! Moving on, tonight concluded with our visit to Ankh-Morpork with our reading from "Jingo," and then prayers. We got to sleep early tonight, as everyone's a bit tired and we're getting up early tomorrow.
