And lo! When we got home, I got my Scooby Doo medal! This was the medal for doing the marathon I finished a few weeks ago, and it looks pretty cool.
Okay, anyway, Maddie was doing her taekwondo while this was going on - just helping with kids, and then leadership class on top of that. She got to spend some time with Nate there, and then a bit afterwards. They're both excited about the trip coming up, the fall trip to Tennessee. It'll be brisk and cool and sunny, and it's going to be awesome.
While there at the studio, we committed to doing a car at the trunk-or-treat. It's an "Amazing Race" theme where kids will be going from car to car to get their "passport" stamped, or at least to get stickers from various countries. Mom and I are going to be representing China, and we'll have some lanterns and other designs on the back of the car - we're brainstorming ideas right now. We're a little nervous, but it'll be fun!
In other news, the conflict in the Middle East may be finding a temporary end. The President announced this today, along with news of hostages coming home that have been there for a few years now. All of this is stunning - we're hoping to see it really all happen next week, but we'll see. If it does happen, it's wonderful news. Of course we doubt the President will ever get a peace prize for this or any of the other international situations that he's helped resolve, let alone all the attempts to bring peace with Ukraine and Russia. Nobel Peace prizes have sort of lost their value for the last couple years, haven't they?
Tonight we read a bit more from Ankh-Morpork, and that was fun - and then we said our prayers. Maddie had chapel this morning, and that made for a great morning. We got her home, and she spent the afternoon at home until it was time to head to Oakwood for taekwondo. It was a good day.
