This morning started out well with a visit to the chiropractor. They spent a little more time on my shoulder blade area, as that has been giving me trouble. But Doc Williams is great, and in fact we brought him a little gift that Mom ordered - a pillow with a skeleton that says "Crack-a-lackin'." Or something like that! Anyway, it was greatly appreciated. As always, I wore a Hawaiian shirt, but this time the Dracula one that I just got recently. That's a thing with Doc Williams - always wearing a Hawaiian shirt pattern. The one thing we did do was schedule our next visit on Halloween itself, and that should be pretty fun. Apparently the whole staff dresses up, and it should be a fun way to start the day.
Anyway, this visit was nice, although one of the clients outside seems to have overdone it with the scary clown decorations...
Afterwards, we were over at Cracker Barrel, which was picking up with customers at least, and that was a good sign. The wait was a little longer, but the food and atmosphere were always just right.
Maddie ordered the beignets, and those were just so delicious. And I go this pot roast that was absolutely perfect. We enjoyed the meal together, and look how they reverted back to the old peg game. There were a lot of customer complaints about how they removed this original peg game, the one with the word "Eg-no-ra-moose" on it. The new versions were toned down a bit with a kinder, gentler encouragement to try again. But customers were clearly disappointed by this gentler talk, and yes, "eg-no-ra-moose" is back with a vengeance. Take that!
Anyway, we got home and did a few things - like set up the Groot scarecrow and other decorations on the front porch. It's a beautiful day out there. I did my treadmill along the virtual trail and got another postcard too.
Tonight Maddie was off to one more Homecoming game, a football game with Nate's high school. It's Homecoming weekend, and that means a dance tomorrow night, which will be fun. I was scouting out some places to do a few photos of Nate and Maddie before the dance, and found some great places in downtown Flowery Branch. Maddie and Nate got something to eat, and then went off to the game - and meanwhile, Mom and I were watching the stage performance of "Noah," by Sight And Sound. Meanwhile, Maddie was off to the game.
Maddie had a great time tonight! She got to see some familiar faces from taekwondo, and another from the church too - and the weather was perfect outside. The temperature was nice and cool outside. As for the football game itself? That was a blowout, with the home team winning by fifty points or so.
Mom and I saw the Great American Baking Show - Celebrity Halloween" show tonight, and it was a lot of fun - and then it was time to go get Maddie. She had a lot to share on the way home, and then home too!
We read tonight from "Jingo," and after that said our prayers. Time to get some sleep!
