Back to Bradley's Pumpkin Patch

This afternoon was so beautiful outside, and we made the pleasant drive over to Bradley's Pumpkin Patch to spend some time with our friends over there.  We've already been picking up pumpkins here and there, but the two pumpkins we got today are the official pumpkins of the season for us, the ones we'll use at the pumpkin carving party coming up soon.

Mr. Tony was there along with the rest of the family, and the place was doing well with lots of visitors, and of course lots of pumpkins!

We picked out our pumpkins together, which you can see above  Mine has an enormous stem.  Not sure what to do with that at the moment.  We just thought it was fun.  You can also see in Maddie's hand the greatest slushy I think I've ever tasted.  One mandatory thing you have to get while there at Bradley's is the muscadine slushy.  It's a masterpiece.  I love it so much that I actually got a refill for the ride home!

It was a nice visit.  We shopped around some, and got a few items there, including some gluten-free breads and of course a bottle of muscadine cider.  And then we were on our way home just as quickly.  For one thing, we had to pack and get ready for our upcoming trip.  Tonight we watched "Coco" together, and after that did some reading, said our prayers, and got some sleep.

But first, this morning!

This was such a hit that Pastor Lance said it was one of the top five things he's ever seen at KidPak.  Of course, that might be an exaggeration, certainly when you include all the altar services.  But the point is, it was huge.  I've never heard kids scream that loud for something when it was over, this roller coaster scream -  you know, that squealing scream reserved for teen idols or something like that?  We did a song capitalizing on the "six seven" meme, and given that the day's message was about reading the Bible, I went to Deuteronomy 6:6-7.  There were visuals on the screen, some great choreography from Dawn, lots of hype from Daniel and Jeremiah, back-up singers, and of course a chorus that repeated "Deuteronomy Six SIX SEVEN!"  The kids went berserk!

Of course, the rest of the morning was fantastic too.  Worship was wonderful, and the message was really good as well.  Our game segment featured the usual trivia that we do - with a twist.  The boys team in the first service usually wins, because of this one kid here.

So I made this game where this one boy took on all of KidPak:  "Maximus vs. the World."  It was pretty fun, and of course you're probably wondering who won.  Yes, it was Maximus.  Super fun.

Anyway, wonderful morning at KidPak.  Great stuff.  But now it's time for bed.  Let's get some rest!
