Neighborhood Driving

Maddie was doing some driving in the rain this morning, and we're adding variables to her routines now - first, there's the rain driving, which wasn't too much of a problem as it wasn't a heavy rain (like it was earlier today).  Getting the turns is getting easier, and so today we launched out into a neighborhood a few times, heading back and forth and just getting used to driving in a place where there are other cars and houses and so on.  She did well!

It was a much cooler day today, to our delight.  Maddie was off with Nate, so Mom and I spent a good bit of time outside putting mulch out and clearing out some of the branches that were starting to overtake areas in the back yard.  Things are coming along nicely.  It was drizzling out there a little bit, but the weather was so pleasant in temperature that we remained out there, getting quite a bit done.  One thing of note:  the juro spiders are getting bigger and getting all over the place again.  We found this one complex of webs with all kinds of them, and had to get to work with the bug-a-salt gun.  I can't tell the amount of these spiders I got rid of, but there was much carnage today!

I did some walking, and got to see my favorite episode of Monty Python while on the treadmill.  It ends with the Vikings singing about Spam, and starts out with pirates - so what else do you need?

Mom and I spent a good deal of time enjoying the cool weather out there on the front porch.  It was nice out there.  I'm reading a book on Rider in the Sky, a biography of the band that's pretty interesting.  We're big fans of the group, obviously.

Tonight Maddie got home while Mom and I were watching a Savannah Bananas game, a first for us.  It was fun just trying to figure out some of the rules as it went along, but we enjoyed that, and were laughing quite a bit at some of the chaos along the way.  Afterwards, the three of us watched another "Fantastic Four" movie, the "Rise of the Silver Surfer."  I actually do wish they made a third movie with this cast, as these were fun movies.  We're about to see the most current one in theaters, so we're sort of having a Fantastic Four marathon leading up to that.

We read tonight, and we said our prayers afterwards.  It's been a pleasant and productive day.  Tomorrow we'll do it again!
