Legends: Cinderella

Here's Madison with the multi-talented Camille, somewhat of a master of disguise for us here at KidPak.  She's playing the part of Cinderella today, and what a huge hit it was.  Daddy was taking pictures like this of countless kids, one after the other, all wanting to take a picture with Cinderella.  They were completely enchanted, and it was a magical experience for them.  Mommy and Daddy joined in as well:

Notice Mommy's "Cinderella" shirt.  We were all in today for a Cinderella-themed message called "Have Courage and Be Kind."  Of course it was called that, right?  With our stage presentation, we had a few plots going on at once, with Dizzy finding a shoe and starting off a sort of warped version of a Cinderella story:

Yes, that's Nerdo's sneaker.  Things go downhill from there, but in a hilarious way.  The kids absolutely loved it this morning, again.  This has been a very fun series!

Here's our cast again for this week, minus Nerdo.  We'll be adding a few more characters next week, including one that the kids are very much looking forward to.  What's her name?  It's not Shrimpy, that's for sure.

But this week, Madison had more lines, and she did very well with them.  She's seen here below, Lonnie's younger sister, the daughter of Mulan.

She's doing well on stage.  She really loves acting, and I think it's helping her confidence and helping her in other areas too.  After the skit, she rushes into the audience to hear Pastor Lance's message, and fill out her booklet for this series.  By the way, she just got a gift card for filling out her last booklet with "Elevate."  She's saving them up and has over $100 so far.  Soon, I think she's saving up for an iPad, not an iPad mini.

After church we got home and tried our best to eat quickly, get dressed for ballet, and get out the door.  Daddy took Madison to Pearce Auditorium, where there was a dress rehearsal for "Frozen," minus the make-up, and apparently the costumes.

Still, it was a chance to get a peek at the production as it's coming along.  How refreshing that it is so completely discombobulated as a church production is a week before showtime.  There were so many missed cues and lighting problems and misplaced props and so forth - it was a slow process.  I think we were there for about five hours.  Madison was there for three hours and twenty minutes or so before she actually did anything.  You can see her above on stage, going through the motions.

This was just an interesting shot of her afterwards, as the girls were hearing their instructions from Mrs. Diane, who was in the audience seats.  All the girls did really well tonight, and no doubt tomorrow will be smoother, and the night after that smoother, and so on, and so on.  It's tech week, and this is what it's like.  Kids waiting to dance, making corrections, and parents stuck in the auditorium or perhaps waiting to come back to pick up their kids.  Daddy was taking all kinds of pictures, and also posting pictures from this morning, doing a bit of work while he was there.

We got home pretty late.  We read about CJ Hook a bit, and from our devotional too.  Then it was time for prayers and bedtime.  It's been a pretty full day - a pretty full weekend for that matter!
