"Frozen" Begins

We had two performances of "Frozen" this morning at Pearce Auditorium in Brenau.  You can see a picture above of Madison in her butterfly costume, waiting within the "Black Box."  This is the backstage area - technically to STAGE RIGHT.  It's where the characters get changed and get ready to go out for their performances.  This morning's productions were strictly versions of the "Frozen" ballet, and nothing more, so it was a shorter performance than what we'll see on the weekend.  Still, it's a lot.  The kids were tired by the time it was all said and done.  This is the excused absence that Madison has, a day off of school so she can go and entertain a few other schools with her dancing.  She's part of this big machine, a massive undertaking with many working parts working together to make magical moments for the children.  The kids were all singing "Let it Go" at the right parts, and other songs too - this sort of production sticks with you.  Even the adults are back on singing songs from "Frozen" again.

All morning long, Daddy was an usher with an official name tag, and Mommy was the sole helping mother volunteer in the Black Box, helping out many, many children with costumes, make-up and hair.  She was in her element, but it was a little much, given that there weren't other volunteers.  Meanwhile, Daddy was helping in other areas as well, and ... dealing with one sick child up top, unfortunately.  Yikes.

Anyway, two productions later, and hundreds and hundreds of kids later, we were on our way home.  We stopped at Chick-Fil-A on the way home, and sat unknowingly next to all the trainees wanting to get a job at Chick-Fil-A.  So we were in on the whole speeches that the new employees are given about marketing, greeting and so forth.  Which was kind of funny, because we know all the answers to the questions being asked by management there.  Madison could have answered some of those, as we eat here so much!

Mommy got home and was working on that Uma costume, which is coming along really well.  Daddy has been working on scripts and messages and keynotes and music and... but all from home today.  It was easier that way.

We finished season one of "A Series of Unfortunate Events," and now are officially all caught up for when the new season starts soon.  Mommy was working on ancestry for a while, and Daddy was reading a book about David from Dr. Mark Rutland.  We all went to bed early tonight, mainly because it was such a full day, even though much of ended around 1:00 pm or so.  But we're back in school tomorrow, and catching up on all the leftover work before the weekend.  Saturday is a big day... but Sunday is too.  It'll be a big weekend!
