Madison is ready for battle, armed and dangerous with her laser tag gear on. Daddy snapped this picture like a photo journalist accompanying the squad before heading out into combat. All the mini-soldiers sat in the holding area, anxious and nervous before battle, taking orders from high command and psyching themselves up before heading into the dark maze.
And soon she was in there, ready to zap everyone else. The thing was, she got hit early on - just like everyone else. She was so disappointed, thinking she had to leave. But no, Madison - you simply wait three seconds and keep zapping away. All the kids got zapped, of course. And all the kids were doing the zapping too. Right there in the maze, Madison found her courage and raced from point to point, shooting through holes in the wall at enemy targets, while dodging laser fire.
Stars and Strikes was a lot of fun for all the kids today. We had a spectacular service this morning beforehand. Praise and worship was incredible, and the excitement of services was off the charts. The Tribes were cheering loudly, dressed up as Gladiators, Vikings, Ninjas, Luchadors, Superheroes, Cowboys - and Madison's Tribe, the Pirates.
There were exciting games onstage and a great message for the kids - a standard morning at Summer Xtreme. There is so much going on this week - and afterwards, it was time to head over to Stars and Strikes. There's bowling there, videos games, laser tag, and ... the Hurricane Tunnel. That went well:
This was one of those fun little things we've always wanted to do. Lance and Daddy got Madison and another random girl to join us in the tunnel, which started blowing all kinds of fierce winds at us. Madison and her friend had a lot of fun!
Lance and Daddy loved it too!
Okay, so there was a little panic. But it was still a lot of fun. Thursday is always a great day for Summer Xtreme. And this camera we're using is outstanding. We've been capturing a lot of pictures for the week, easily thousands. Of course, we made time to snap a few of Madison along the way!
Here she is with one of her friends:
Madison has a lot of older friends that look after her, little "guardian angels" that keep her safe and having a good time. In laser tag, she had someone watching her - but that's everywhere. She's got a lot of friends, and of course we're grateful to have others watching over her.
We had the nice camera, so we of course had a few pictures taken of ourselves as well. This might be the only Summer Xtreme picture taken of Mommy and Daddy this week. We're just so busy running here and there, we usually don't have time for much. But this year has been a little different, and we've had a few moments here and there to simply watch and enjoy everything around us.
Only one more day left!
