Gemini

Today's new thing was an inflatable planetarium.  Again, our local library does some neat things over the summer.  We registered Madison for this Star Lab program a few weeks ago, and we're glad we did:  there was a waiting list.  But Madison got to go into the planetarium, along with the other kids registered.

No parents allowed!  This was primarily because they couldn't fit!  Picture an igloo with a child-sized entrance, and there you go.  Madison crawled into the planetarium and had a splendid time seeing the stars, and in her words, "Feeling like the whole earth was moving."  She learned that the North Star does not move, and was shown a variety of constellations in the sky, including the one that she was born under:  Gemini.  Daddy only learned today "what her sign is."  Daddy's is Scorpio, and Mommy's is Taurus.  Of course, we don't follow astrology, be we do follow astronomy, and it's fun to see what's up... literally.  The skies are filled with stars, planets, galaxies, comets, asteroids, and satellites, and this was a fun thing for Madison to learn about this afternoon.

The morning we were at tennis camp once more, where Madison has really shown some progress.  Her backhand swing is just wonderful to look at, and she's just having the greatest time hitting that ball.  She runs to the courts to be first in line to hit that ball back, and runs off to collect those tennis balls afterwards.  Daddy is out there collecting tennis balls too - there are a lot that the kids hit over the net, and collecting them all is a constant battle, in order to replenish the supply.  The weather has been perfect - there was rain last night, and an overcast sky again this morning.  It started to sprinkle a little bit about halfway through, but it didn't threaten at all.  In fact, the weather simply made for a nice, cool morning.  Of course, the kids were running around a whole lot and needed to keep drinking.  Madison has her official "Tribes" water bottle with her, the one from Summer Xtreme this year.  She's been drinking that one the whole week.

Daddy had to work tonight - we made up a service all based on the concept of the photobomb.  This is a fairly common practice these days, where someone throws themself into a picture unexpectedly.  All through Summer Xtreme, we saw it with the kids.  During the wedding a few weeks ago, it happened a lot.  Even Mommy got into it at Stars and Strikes:

So tonight we showed a lot of photobomb pictures from the internet - some funny ones with regular folks, animals, celebrities, sporting events, and of course ending up with the wedding pictures (that had a lot of KidPak staff there) and Summer Xtreme with the kids.

The point we eventually got around to making was that Jesus is always in the picture with us too, whether we realize it or not.  This is based on Matthew 28:20, when he said He's always be with us.  So it was somewhat of a humorous night, and an encouraging message as well.

One funny moment is when we brought out our music minister, and told him to pose in front of the audience.  Earlier, we told the kids to make goofy faces behind him as we were taking the picture, and it came out pretty fun!

You can see Daddy way back there, just over his right shoulder.  Anyway, it was a fun theme for the evening.

Madison was in bed when Daddy got home.  We said our prayers and he got to see her off to sleep tonight - it was another good day for Madison.  Tomorrow we finish up tennis camp, and then go off to the moon.  Following that, a trip to Africa to visit with Tarzan.  Lots going on this summer so far!
