Here are some coupons I made up for kids on Sunday - I think this works for a neat Father's Day idea:
Mommy spotted the coupon idea, and Daddy sort of made a new version for us and for the kids at church to hand to their dads. I'm especially fond of the scriptures supporting each idea - each one suddenly makes those tasks a little more Biblical. And of course the back scratch scripture is just plain funny to me, obviously taken out of context.
Today was a work day, and as we thought, it was a home day for Madison. She was sick, although nothing serious fortunately. It's just this persistent cough, and the continuous drainage. Of course, we have her on children's allergy medicine and a cough suppressant. But a day at home not going anywhere is probably also good medicine as well.
To that extent, Madison had an adventure at home. That's what we'll call it! She did quite a bit of reading, of course. Got to stay on target with that reading - she's a little over a third done towards her goal. She's also been doing some more drawing and more playing piano today as well. But there's been just a general resting too - sitting on the couch and going through episodes of "Scooby Doo." Not the old episodes, but these newer ones with more updated animation. She really likes this cartoon a lot, something Daddy is rather proud to have introduced to her.
Daddy got home later, but we still made time to go to New York. With the Lego Marvel game, at least. We've been talking about different states lately - yesterday was a bit about Texas, and today was New York. So we had our "research trip" to the big city via Iron Patriot and Aunt Bertha. "Aunt Bertha" is the name we gave one of our made-up Lego characters - she has The Blob's body, and is wearing pink. We thought Aunt Bertha would be an appropriate name for such a superhero.
Anyway, we did do that for a bit - but it was quickly bed time for us all. Everyone is zonked - quite tired still from something that happened last week. I think we're all just still gradually trying to catch up. Regardless, it's time for bed. Tomorrow we've got small plans - and more work - but it should be another more quiet day. Until then... goodnight!
