Sunday!

Sunday! Another busy day, only because of all the stuff related to Nana.  We started out at church, and it was a great, great, great morning.  Especially one for Mom.  The worship set changed at KidPak at the last minute, and I think it was God-directed, because the volunteers and Mom in particular were really engaged in worship and it was just a blessed morning filled with encouragement for her, a sort of refill that she desperately needed.  Her mother is ailing, and it’s been a tough time for us all, but quite a bit for her.

Maddie took some amazing pictures again, serving as our official KidPak photographer lately.  We had a shortened service, as we normally do, one where the kids go upstairs to get prayed over by Pastor Franklin and the staff.  Additionally, all those in children’s ministry were up there too.  Maddie went through the line, as dd the cast and other volunteers.

After service, we were heading back towards the hospital, although we had to drop by the home in Dawsonville first, as we wanted to see about the hospice care material that was dropped in Nana’s room.  We all went to Wild Wing Café, and the food was good again, although the waitress and/or cook messed up Mom’s order and gave her super hot wings, and then initially had the audacity to tell us that this was the way they’re usually prepared when she’s ordered the same wings the last two times and they are specifically not spicy at all, as indicated on the menu.  Never argue with the customer about that.  Anyway, they gave Mom the right wings, but of course she was left with her mouth stinging a little, and wondering how Maddie always orders hot stuff like this.

Moving on!  We went over to visit Nana at the hospital again, and the goal is still having her leave here tomorrow.  Hopefully!  But the visit was good, all three of us on hand to see how she’s doing.  She ate some ice cream that Mom got from down the hall, although the chocolate pudding she says she can’t taste so much.  She seems a little more upbeat or at least talkative, and that seems good.  Our big worry is the heart rate, but she’ll make the trip tomorrow and be under a special supervision.

Tonight we watched a few episodes of “Monk,” per Maddie’s request.  We met the gross Dale the Whale for the first time, and I told Maddie he’d be back again – maybe three times throughout the series?  Anyway, she’s enjoying the series, something we started on the premise that Maddie has forensics this year in high school, so why not?

We played another level of “Luigi’s Mansion 3” tonight, and by another level I mean “another floor.”  We were doing the musical floor, battling a composer playing his piano and doing a bit more exploring.  It’s been fun – we’re getting pretty good with the controls, and it’s getting easier.  Maddie is Luigi, and I’m a “Gooigi,” I think it’s spelled.  Anyway, we work together ridding the place of ghosts.  Fun!

The story of “Leia” continued tonight at bedtime reading, and we said our prayers after that.  It’s been a full day, and we were ready to get to bed earlier.  Tired!
