Valentine's Day Gingerbread House 2023

Tonight was the livestream premiere of the last episode of “The Chosen” for season three.  You can see Maddie above on the floor with the whole crew, getting ready to take it all in!  It was dramatic, as expected, and quite emotional.  It was good, and it was neat watching something once more simultaneous with so many other people.  We’ve been really invested in this show, and all of the sudden there are no more episodes for a while – we’ll have to wait for season four when it comes out.  I’d like to see that one in the theaters.  Tonight’s episode was fantastic though, as the show has been.  Maddie is really enjoying it, and we all talk about the events within the show afterwards.  It’s great to have these dialogues about Bible stories afterwards. 

 

Maddie has been doing homework, and peeking over her shoulder from time to time, you can see her studying World War II.  It would have been nice to coordinate with some safer movies with that theme to sort of dive into that atmosphere, but I’m not so involved with school.

 

One thing I am involved in is VALENTINE’S DAY GINGERBREAD HOUSES!  Yep, we got out a leftover Christmas gingerbread house, and we've also been getting little decorative candies and cereals to add to the house, and it turned out pretty decent:

We added Frankenberry cereal to the roof, and the new heart-shaped Fruit Loops to the front area there.  We also have the Valentine's Day themed Cheerios on the ground there.  We have conversation hearts on there, plus dark chocolate Dove hearts and smaller heart-shaped candies too.  It's totally sweet!

The Valentine's Day themed Madagascar special was on while we were decorating away, and got it done just in time for that episode of "The Chosen."  It was a pretty good night!

We had a good day today, getting plenty done at work and school.  We closed out the day tonight with reading, from the devotional and our adventure in the Discworld, followed by prayers before going to sleep.  Before going to sleep, here are some pictures from school that Maddie jus shared, a few updates of her artistic work with the gummy bears - a great gummy bear update!
