We had such a busy night today, but it all worked out well. Maddie was busy tonight at the Parents Night Out at the martial arts studio, helping out with the younger kids. But she was also there for two classes tonight, including her usual leadership and black belt classes. She was pretty tired by the time I picked her up from my own night at KidPak - we had Parents Night Out too! It was such a journey trying to figure out what recent animated picture to show for a movie night, as it seems we have to be very careful with "family" movies recently released, being sure to watch them carefully for things to edit and so forth.
So we went with "The Bad Guys," and it was a big success - we had popcorn, candy, drinks and a full house. There were a lot of kids being dropped off at our Gainesville location, but five of the other KidPak locations too, plus at the Edge martial arts location too. Parents were taking advantage of going out for date night, while we were all watching the kids. It was a pretty busy night, but it went well!
The rest of the day was a busy mess, but it was all good. We started out visiting Nana, as I knew I'd be working later, so we went over there for a visit in the earlier hours. We got a few things done while we were there, but there are some loose ends still to deal with. We'd like to set up the long distance calling so she can speak with her brother more often, and then there's the matter of laundry, changing sheets, and bathing too, believe it or not. But she's settling in, and there are in fact new friends there, so I think it's working out.
I got to work after that, and picked up Maddie from home to race out the door for the evening's madness, but again, it was all good. It all worked out, and all's well. We got home pretty tired, but had time to read a bit, finishing off the Narnia devotional and reading a bit from the latest Discworld book, "Reaper Man." We haven't read as much about the character of Death yet, although he's had some mentions early. I believe he has a much bigger role in this book upcoming though, one as Bill Door. I know this because this book is part of the "Death" series, and also Death is on the front cover!
He's got a bigger part coming up in the book, and it'll be fun to see how he goes about living his life as a helpful and efficient farm hand. Of course, he won't stay there for long, as he's a hero of the Discworld, which is a funny thing to consider given his job.
Anyway, all is well. We'll have a good day tomorrow, starting out with taekwondo, and then a fun evening planned. We got to sleep tonight, quite exhausted, but at least we get to sleep in a little tomorrow!
