The Ber Months is another name for the last four months of the year, which is also somewhat of a super early start to the Christmas season too. There's a podcast we listen to that celebrates Christmas, and starts out during the Ber Months, sharing old publications and facts about the way Christmas used to be celebrated and how certain traditions are in place to this day. It's fascinating, and we listen in, even in September. This year, the creator of that podcast has a new book out, one we've already ordered.
Speaking of ordering things, Mom got me a super-early birthday present. Well, it actually came from a gift card that was given to me by Camille's in-laws, who expressed their gratitude for my part in the wedding by giving me a gift card. Mom used that to get me a new board game, one based on Disney's old Headless Horseman movie. It should be fun to play, if we're ever able to.
Maddie skipped taekwondo tonight, as she's got camp this weekend and she wanted to make sure she spent enough time getting ready for school the following week. She's all packed and ready to go. She's got her pink clothing ready too, part of her tribe's colors. No, she is still not a fan of wearing pink. But for camp she'll make an exception. Besides, Mom found a nice plaid pink shirt with some muted pink on it that should be a good compromise.
Tonight we read of course, and it will be the last we read together until Labor Day when Maddie gets back from camp. We said our prayers, and after that, it was time for a good night's rest. Tomorrow's a huge day for Maddie!
