Christmas in Neverland

"Christmas in Neverland" started today, and it was a great beginning to things.  We were supposed to have a Victorian set up on the stage, but the Christmas production in our main sanctuary robbed us of that, and we were left with Neverland still there, and the question, what to do about it?  The end result was Christmas in Neverland, and it really turned out well.  Camille and Joe decorated the stage very nicely, and all our actors delivered some fine performances.  The audience was very much into it, laughing and shouting and clapping, and not happy when it was all over with, as they wanted it to keep on going.  Here's a few pictures from the skit this morning, of Captain Hook and other famous residents of Neverland, as well as a special visit from Hook's mother!

This script was very fun to write.  I was puzzled by things until I did some reading from Neverland and watching a few other things I hadn't seen before.  Anyway, I'm very proud of the new script and was super pleased with everyone's performance today.  The message that followed just sealed it all, capping off a wonderful morning at church.

The rest of the day was a bit more relaxing.  The weather outside was rather wet and cold, and so we set a fire ablaze in the fireplace, and got ourselves watching Christmas movies.  We had a nice meal together, and just stayed inside and warm today, resting up before the big week upcoming.  We've got a lot going on soon with the productions, lots of practices and so forth, and maybe some late nights.

Jingle Bell seems to be in a spot of trouble here, as Stitch is holding the controls to a rocket launch.  Today is the even of St. Nicholas Day, so perhaps Stitch should be careful here, given that Krampus may be lurking around in the neighborhood tonight in search of those who are naughty.  I'm sure this is all in good fun, and Jingle Bell is going to be just fine, right?

The fire was roaring in the fireplace as we sat down nice and cozy together.  Maddie enjoys the movie "Coat of Many Colors" and after that the Kung Fu Panda Holiday.  Earlier, we were revisiting "Klaus," which is a really nice December movie that was new to us.  It's a new one that we'll add to our watchlist each year, because it's really good.  The ending is amazing.

We were doing other things today, but mostly indoors due to the inclement weather outside.  It was cold and wet.  Tonight we read from our book and we prayed again.  And Maddie put her boot beside the fireplace in hopes that St. Nicholas will put something inside.  I asked Mom to put her boot by the fireplace as well - who knows, perhaps she'll get something tomorrow morning too!
