This was Maddie's view as she opened up her bedroom door this morning before school, a ginormous inflatable Minion character. I was worried the fan that inflates this thing would wake her up, but she didn't know there was a giant inflatable Minion just outside her door. You can see Jingle and Snowflake in these pictures too, mischief on their faces.
It was a quiet day. We were doing some shopping online, and Maddie was studying for a midterm tonight, although there was her online small group too. The girls were talking for quite some time tonight, and playing their usual games. I've been making up the games for Camille for a few months now, and it's been fun trying to make games for the unusual holidays that each day lands on. Tomorrow is "Barney Barbie Backlash Day," and they had a card game of that, trying to avoid the cards that had Barney or Barbie on them.
It's been a tough Christmas season at home. This season already has a bit of inherent stress, but the home dynamics are challenging to say the least. We're essentially quarantined still, not able to really go anywhere, but at the same time not finding any rest at home either.
Fortunately, we're able to read together at night - Maddie lines up her friends along the bed, Putnam, Chuck, and a few others including the Poop emoji, who stays in bed with me. We all sit together to read the latest chapter or two of the Kingdom Keepers book. There's been a lot of devastation at Disneyland. Hopefully the Keepers can stop the Overtakes from ...well, overtaking.
