So the Nutcracker theme continued today, with our elf putting on quite a show in the living room. You might need to look closer to see who it is inside there.
Yes, it's the Avengers. These were found online, with Madison's favorite Scarlet Witch as Clara, Captain America hilariously as Mother Ginger, Nick Fury as Uncle Drosselmeyer, Black Widow as the Snowflake Queen, Iron Man as the Nutcracker, the Incredible Hulk as the Sugar Plum Fairy, and Thor as the Mouse King! These are brilliant, and were hard to pass up, I'm sure. In fact, I think they'll be in our permanent rotation of Christmas decorations now...
So as for the tests, Madison will continue the math test tomorrow, as it is pretty big. But she's done with her social studies test, and she was surprised at how she did on that one: she got a perfect score! That seals the deal on most of the grades this semester - she now has all A's on all classes, and we've just got one more test to nail down that last grade.
She does it all at school, and keeps going to art club, and Live to Give as well. Speaking of which, here's a nice group shot of the kids at Live to Give:
We've been proud of her wanting to serve and help out, and learn a bit too. She's been outside, promoting Toys for Tots and helping clean up a lot of areas. Her teachers have noticed that too. She's doing well with academics, but there are other areas to be very proud of her with as well.
We got news of an extended time off for the church, an extra Wednesday night off, so we're pretty excited about that. I believe we're going to Florida soon enough to visit with the grandparents, and it'll be fun - and relaxing. We're still a bit sick now, but that's okay - the bright side is that everyone should be healthy by the time Christmas visits, and healthy for our time together afterwards.
