North Pole Snowman

Jingle had a snowman for us, one from the North Pole!  The problem of course was that the snowman didn't quite last long enough for us to actually see it, given that it's still kind of warm here.  And in fact, it was pretty warm today, a complete reversal of temperatures of late.  It was actually a beautiful fall day, and it still is technically fall, so I guess that's okay.  But we're all in this December mode, and it was just odd to go outside after the rains this morning, and lo!  It's a pretty warm day!

We had KidPak this morning, which went well of course.  We sort of had a bonus Sunday, that's what we'll call it.  There were some plans for Christmas decorations that took our set designer away, and as a result, we have to start our Whoville series next week.  So we made due with this weekend, extending the "Level Up" series, despite being done with the messages from that booklet.  One of our friends from Australia spoke to the kids this morning, talking about his recent mission trip in Guatemala, and having a spirit of giving.  It went well!

Madison got home and did a little piano, but she also did a lot of studying for her math test tomorrow.   Regardless of how she does, we know she's been studying hard this season.  I think for over an hour she was doing assignments and practicing, so hopefully this will translate into something she can be proud of on the test.

We watched "Smoky Mountain Christmas" again tonight, along with some popcorn of course.  Thus, we've concluded the great Dolly Parton Christmas Trilogy for the season.  Madison really likes Dolly Parton, and I guess who doesn't?  It's just fun to see her embrace Dolly, sort of like she was all about the Monkees a few years ago.

We played a lot of Battlefront tonight, something Daddy wanted to let her do because she studied so long.  Besides, Hoth is a big Christmas planet, right?

We read from Luke, chapter 2, tonight, and there was the one memory verse in there that Madison said without reading from the booklet.  We have a sweet daughter.  We said our prayers together, and went to bed for a long winter's night.  Only... it was still pretty warm outside!
