Ho, Ho, Hot!

Our elf had some hot flavor in mind today with a few pleasant surprises for Madison, who is a huge fan of spicy stuff.  There you can see the red hots, and some hot tamales, as well as this small bottle of tabasco sauce flavored jelly beans, which were actually quite hot!  Madison was chowing down on them without any problem at all.  The other sauce was Texas Pete, which she really likes.  The bottle to our elf's right is a new label, a sauce called Mustafar Hot Sauce.

The motto is "Let the Heat Flow Through You," as it is based on a famous lava planet in Star Wars where the Sith like to lurk.  We had fun making this one up.

This morning we continued our series "Whoville" with a full cast, including one Grinch!

Here she is, getting ready this morning.  It's actually a more lengthy make-up process, although nothing like the official movies of course.  But it does take a bit of time to put on the make-up, and Camille was on hand to help out tremendously.  She had lines herself, because she was playing the part of Cindy Lou Who:

The costumes were great this morning - you can see the cast here greeting outside in the lobby area.  We had several Whos from Whoville, and a perpetual line of kids and parents wanting to pose for a picture with the characters.  Cindy Lou Who and the Grinch stayed in character the whole time!

It was a really stellar morning, and one of the things that made it so was the enthusiasm of our actors. They were really into this, really over the top with their acting, and just having a fun time throughout the day.  It translated on stage, and the kids were sucked along for the fun!

Our bottom line was the question, "Where are you Christmas?" and of course we had an answer for that with our message. But during the skit portion, it was up to our Grinch to find out for himself!

The kids had a great time, including Madison who was now in the audience for a few weeks, at least. She wanted to sit with her friends, and enjoy a series from the seats, and we were more than happy to make accommodations.  She enjoyed the service, and of course, most importantly, learned a few things along the way.  She of course knows that Jesus is the reason for the season, and that's where Christmas is.  But she learned a few other things too.

It was a great day at KidPak, and the kids were really into it.  Parents were too - this was posted online, and has been one of the more popular pictures, even more than Stormtroopers and Wreck-it Ralph.  The Grinch is pretty universal, and I don't mean the movie studio.

Anyway, it was a fantastic morning at KidPak, and after that, we were on our way home.  Madison was studying for her upcoming math final, and after that we were busy making a gingerbread home.  You'll see it soon enough, but the house was based on one of those houses from Whoville, and it even came with a Grinch and a Max and a Cindy Lou.  We popped in the movie "Babes in Toyland" and sung along as we put down sprinkles, gumdrops, peppermint, and lots of icing.  And there was a lot of sneaking of candy and so forth, but in the end, it turned out great.  You'll see it tomorrow, and you'll understand why when you see the picture.  I think our elf has an idea or two with that house!
