Jingle Bell hopped in the gyrosphere and was out there with the dinosaurs at Jurassic Park, including a Sinclair dinosaur by the looks of things. This was a great one, actually. Hopefully Santa got us a copy of the next Jurassic World movie, because we're itching to watch dinosaurs march around again.
Mommy and Daddy did a bit of shopping today, but we also had a lunch date at Outback. We got back in time for Madison, and together we headed out to piano class, and then after that, a visit with Santa Cow!
This time honored tradition dates back to the early days of Bethlehem's most famous temporary resident, when excited shepherds would commemorate the anniversary of the birthday by dressing up their sheep and cows with festive red costumes. Today at Chick-Fil-A, the tradition continues, where kids and parents alike can come to visit with the Santa Cow, who rests on this Yuletide Bovine Throne, directing his assistants to give out candy canes, small festive stuffed cows and other childhood delights!
They had it set up somewhat like a portrait studio, which I think is marvelous. I mean, perhaps in time this could replace the other Santa picture that people send out, right? All these pictures with an ordinary Santa - that's just white noise. The next hip thing will be sending out pictures of your kids with Santa Cow, right?
Anyway, there was plenty to do there tonight, including obviously eating. We had our very last calendar coupons to use, these towards a chicken sandwich. Madison and Daddy ate for a bit, but there was something else to do at the craft table as well.
Madison made a cow ornament, a glass ball that had cotton inside, both white balls and black pom moms as well. Add a nose and some google eyes, and suddenly you have a cow ornament. She actually enjoyed doing this!
Tonight it was freezing, and it was still raining a tiny bit, so there's enough of a risk to send everyone in late tomorrow morning. That's always a nice thing to know the night before: that you can sleep in! But also, it gave us more reason to sit down and watch "The Polar Express" together!
Mommy cooked up hot chocolate on the stove, and it was simply wondrous. We sat there on the couch with a perfect Christmas moment, sharing hot chocolate and watching "The Polar Express" with the tree all lit up and pretty, and no worries about getting up early the next morning. It was really nice.
We read tonight, from Luke, from the Scrooge devotional, and finally from "The Nutcracker" booklet, which is very enjoyable, by the way. We're liking that one a lot. Then... it was off to bed. Time to get some rest for a long winter's nap.
That is, unless someone hears another train rumbling through tonight...!
