It's Cinco de Mayo, and we celebrated with tacos and chips and queso, and old Herb Alpert vinyl records tonight. Mom added some flavor to the table settings and we had a nice little fiesta tonight at dinner time. We had time to watch a movie afterwards, and the thinking was something set in Mexico, which got us thinking of our two old standards, "Three Amigos" and "Nacho Libre." But inspiration struck when I went down to get the movies, where I spotted "Beverly Hills Chihuahua" amidst the movie collection.
Yes, we revisited this ol' gem tonight, and it wasn't that bad! We enjoyed it, although I'm not entirely sure this will lead to a Beverly Hills Chihuahua marathon. As you may recall they made a sequel, and then they made another sequel after that.
Maddie was doing a bit of studying tonight, getting ready for one last final tomorrow in her driver's education class. It's a written final, and it's in the morning. It's the last day of anything related to education, and that's it. She'll escape from high school, and that's that.
She slept in this morning, and meanwhile Mom and I were at the hospital for a standard sort of check-up for Mom, and after that a few more other chores at the bank where we had to wait for a tiny bit. We were invited to sit in a waiting area, which had these modern chairs...
Moving on! We were happy to head over to Red Lobster fora nice lunch there. This restaurant was such an empire back in the day, and things have quieted down quite a bit. Many of the locations of this chain closed down, but the one in Gainesville had such great service, great food, and so much nostalgia to it. I dunno... we enjoyed it, and got some lobster, and got home after heading over to Lowe's to pick up some paint for the back deck. We also got some more mulch, so we're ready to get that back yard all set up for summer.
Maddie had her taekwondo tonight, and that was fun. She and the others had a great night, helping other students and getting ready for the tournament too. The Battle of Atlanta is getting closer.
We got home for our fiesta afterwards, and after the movie we had time to read about the Discworld, and then we said our prayers. Time to get a good night's rest, as tomorrow she's got one last test.
