Good Health

So the season of good news continues with Mom's overall health.  Though she was understandably exhausted from the weekend's plans and activities, we had our day of rest on Monday and following that we did have a visit to the doctor's office again today.  It was a "callback" of sorts, but nothing to do with the theater - the mammogram was not conclusive enough and the team wanted a closer look and a few more scans today.  We had confidence going in that all would be well, but I tell you, I didn't realize how nervous I really was until Mom came back and then told me that she was all clear.  It was then I released a breath that I didn't know I was holding, and got kind of emotional:  Mom's okay!

Related to this story - somewhat - is the news that our former President has not been in good health at all.  This has stirred up quite the national conversation, but it is safe to say that we all wish him well.  The prognosis, however, is quite devastating.

We were still pretty tired today, but the two of us went to the office today where there were meetings and plans for KidPak and Summer Xtreme.  Things are moving forward in a good way there, as we adjust and readjust and always strive to improve.  Mom was getting together a costume for me for a filming on Friday - I'm playing an "interesting" character for a video played at Forward.

We were also playing a boardgames - yes, a boardgame!  This is the overall game design that Josh was making up for his Mario Party style game that will have different tribes competing all throughout Summer Xtreme.  That was pretty crazy, but fun!

It was a quiet day, but a hot and muggy one.  The heat was building up and tonight the payoff is a line of extremely strong storms.  We took our feeders in, but we'll have to be more vigilant about that now because there are some fairly hefty raccoons out there who like to make a big mess of things.  It's best not to tempt them to come up here.  They've broken the bluebird feeder, so we'll have to get another one of those.  Meanwhile, the squirrels are still advancing one by one, and one by one I'm inviting them to church.  We're at 102 currently, which is an insane number.

Maddie spent most of the day resting.  I think she packed up some gifts, and of course she was on the phone with friends.  It was a day of rest for her.  And Mom too, when we got home.  All of us were still fairly wiped out from the big weekend.

We were ready for the line of storms tonight, as ready as we could be.  It's been a very difficult spring for a lot of folks west of us, with huge tornadoes and so many tragic losses.  We've had a fairly active spring to the west of us, and while we've had some strong storms and even hail, the majority of the devastation has been elsewhere in Tennessee, Kentucky, Missouri and Alabama.

Tonight before bed we said our prayers, and we expressed our gratitude for Mom's health.  We read from our Kingdom Keepers book again, and both Maddie and I were surprised when Fairy Godmother told our heroes they have to go back in time.  Neither of us have any idea what will happen next, but it's a fun read.

We watched "Loki" tonight, finishing up season one again.  Might have to go to season two, but we've got other things to watch, including some Disney Cruise "research" movies.  So many themed locations there, we want to sort of get into the spirit of things by watching the related movies and shows.  Not long to go, and we're all looking forward to that!
