May is here, and it's a doozy of a month with so much going on. Not so much today though, although it is technically the last Thursday of Maddie's public school experience. The weird thing about these last days of school is that nothing ever really happens. I think there was a test or two early in the week, but these final days are just sort of a time to run out the clock, like the end of a game that has a forgone conclusion. It's a just a time for fellowship with one another and with cellphones.
It's May Day, which of course is a big day for Communists I guess. I remember that growing up, the big parades in Russia. But why not celebrate
We were doing a good bit of KidPak prep today, working on booklets and getting things wrapped up for our new series. This is part of the book above, some artwork I had AI create for Daniel and a lion. Some of the rejected artwork is pretty funny, but the good stuff is really handy and unique, and adds so much flavor to the books. And there's the series we're currently entering, with somewhat of a Medieval theme to it - "Kingdom Quest." We'll ease in to this series, as this Sunday is May the Fourth, and of course that's a day we have to do a Star Wars skit for. But we'll head into the theme a little stronger the following week. Mom had me get those costumes from Braselton, three tubs of knights and princesses and peasants too.
Maddie had some taekwondo tonight, teaching students in class and then working with her leadership class. She had a good night there, and class usually extends about a half-hour afterwards with the students just sitting about talking with one another. That's okay. No big hurry, as there are no huge homework assignments for tomorrow.
We had a good, quiet and uneventful day today - but the remaining days of this month will surely make up for that. We read tonight from our Discworld book, and we said our prayers. Time to get some sleep!
