Taekwondo Portraits

We finally got Maddie's taekwondo portraits today, the ones taken back on May 23rd, and they turned out pretty good.  Some are pretty fun, like the one with the lightning.  It screams "Dan Kwon Do," and we were all laughing at that one - it's fun and kind of crazy!  The others turned out pretty decent as well as you can see below.

We were actually at taekwondo tonight, once again there to watch Maddie for a bit.  I take Nana out for grocery shopping while she's practicing, so I don't get to see all of it, but I did get to see Maddie practice her form and that was pretty spot-on.  I got to see more than that, but at the same time we needed to get a few groceries from Mom's list, so I was out there picking up a few items.  There was such a downpour on us while we were out.  Later on, it just dumped rain on us tonight, saturating the ground.  The weather has been so hot and the heat index soaring - the humidity intense.  The rain was a very welcome visitor.  It rained on and off through the night.

Mom had tacos for us tonight.  After convincing Nana that she really doesn't want to walk up and down the street at 9pm in the pouring rain without an umbrella, we all sat down together to re-watch the final two episodes of "Obi Wan Kenobi," just because they were pretty good.  It was late after that though - we got to sleep after reading and praying of course.

Today was our twenty-two year anniversary, and the usual thing is to celebrate with a trip or even a date, but we can't do that of course.  But we did remember, and there was this understanding that some day we'll be able to be free to do that.  It was bittersweet.  Nana was difficult today, and that didn't help.

The rain is coming down outside, and it sounds wonderful.  Easy to fall asleep to.
