Back Yard Flowers

Alice's garden is coming along nicely!  We took some photos outside today, as the weather at night is reasonable enough to be seated on the back deck there, overlooking the backyard, listening to the birds and cicadas.  It was nice sitting out there tonight - I took a little walk around the yard with the camera to take some snaps of the yard, some flowers, and some peppers too!

It was a relaxing day today, this after a pretty fun KidPak service this morning.  We had our characters on the stage, all in lawn chairs and patriotic t-shirts.  We were all looking upward, waiting for fireworks, telling jokes and getting the point across for the day along the way.  Speaking of which, I spoke in both messages, revisiting an old script I did some time ago with some updates.  It was a message "In God We Trust," and it featured a lot of quotes and moments from American history, including of course the passage from the Declaration of Independence:  "with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence."

It was a good morning.  We got some rain today, finally, and it came afterwards, later on this evening.  It was a lot of rain too, so that was great for all the plants we have growing.

After church, we picked up quite a bit of Chinese food.  Mom set the table with our Chinese tableware, and we even had the chopsticks ready.  It was a delicious feast, one a few days overdue, as we were going to have Chinese food to celebrate Gotcha Day.  We were all too busy for it on Thursday, with taekwondo and so on.  But we got it all together today, and it was nice.

We watched "The Bad Guys" tonight, and that was a pretty fun animated movie.  I don't think I'll use it for our upcoming "At the Movies" series, but we're glad we watched it.  Today was a nice day though.  Tomorrow we'll be pretty busy, of course, and it's going to be super fun.

Tonight, we read from our book again, and after that prayers.  The rain is coming down, and we have a lot to be grateful for.
