Home School

Madison has been learning quite a bit with Mommy as of late. As you can see above, Madison is connecting the dots and coloring in an umbrella. One of the main features of this particular booklet is a series of matching exercises, which challenge Madison to find matches - or find the object that is different. Today was a big day for learning: Madison learned what nickel is, a quarter is, a dime is, and a penny is. With gas prices soaring as of late, it's good to know what every one of those is: we've been pinching pennies lately.

For example, we used some coupons to see the movie "Rango" today at the theater. It was a good movie, but probably not the best choice for Madison. We made up for it by taking advantage of another special: free Veggie Tales movies. A few weeks ago, we picked up some Veggie Tales movies for free by pre-purchasing their upcoming Easter special. We'll wait to see that one, as Easter is a few weeks away still. The nearest holiday is St. Patrick's Day, so we're still in leprechaun mode here: today we popped in "The Leprechaun's Christmas Gold."

Although... that's not actually the closest holiday. This Friday, it appears we have another holiday of epic proportions. Yes, we've been looking at lists of obscure holidays and have discovered that this Friday is a day worth celebrating. Which holiday is it? You'll just have to wait and see!
