Daddy's Sweater

Here's Madison before class today, wearing Daddy's sweater. We actually needed it this morning, because it was downright chilly!

Today we returned to music class, where Madison was quite pleased to be practicing with the black keys, the middle G, rest notes and of course all her new friends. Class is always enjoyable for Madison, but it is fun for us too! It features "developmentally appropriate curriculum which introduces basic music, vocal, and piano skills in an energetic, fun-filled format."

I think that's a good thing. Before class, Madison and Daddy had a good old fashioned game of catch out in the front yard, using her new glove. Madison does have quite an arm on her. Throwing right-handed, she can hit a target pretty accurately from about four or five feet away, and up high. Also, she can catch reasonably well. We'll still need some practice on that, but that's the fun part.

After class, we went to the old house to do some more painting on the back deck. While doing that, Madison ran next door to Ye-Ye and Nana's house. Nana was home, and the two immediately hit it off. They were using sidewalk chalk all over the driveway, and then inside dressing up My Little Pony dolls. It was a fun time for them, and a productive time for Mommy and Daddy, who finished up painting that deck finally. Just a bit more to do on the house. We'll post pictures here when we're finished.

In the meantime, we returned home once again, but this time for the night. We had a bit of a family movie night, plugging in "Aladdin," and enjoying that for a while. Also, Daddy read several books to Madison, including "Pooh's Perfect Spring Day."

It wasn't exactly a perfect spring day outside today - as noted earlier, it was a little on the chilly side. But it isn't spring yet. And, despite the cold, we did get a lot accomplished. Daddy also had a great bedtime story, where Madison went on a magic carpet ride up above the clouds - where everyone discovered they were really made out of ice cream. Sweet dreams, Madison!
