Puddle Jumper

It was a very rainy day today, but the weather was warm enough and Mommy was away getting her haircut, so Daddy thought, "why not?" Yes, that's right: Why not go outside in our raincoats and jump in puddles? Madison put on her purple raincoat and boots, and tromped outside with Daddy in search of puddles to stomp in. It was an afternoon Puddle Hunt, as we two intrepid explorers embarked upon an adventure in search of those elusive puddles. Fortunately, Daddy knows just where to find a good one - the rain was heavy enough to make a decent-sized puddle right there in our driveway. Quietly, Daddy signaled to Madison, and the two of us began our stealth approach, sneaking up on it....

The poor thing never stood a chance! Madison had fun jumping on the smaller sized puddles, but when she saw that monster, she determined to start stomping on it right away. You can see from this photo that the judges simply had to give her perfect scores for grace, form, athleticism - and a big, honkin' splash! This is one of those activities that seems timeless. God made us puddles just for this purpose: so we can put on big rubber boots and stomp our feet in them, sending water everywhere! Such a simple pleasure, but a big one too! As the rain fell down, Daddy watched Madison crack herself up after each splash. She giggled hardest when the water would somehow splash up and actually hit Daddy too. All I'm saying is be careful when going puddle hunting with Madison - you're in the splash zone wherever you are.

She had a great time. It was brief though, because Daddy didn't want her to get too wet. If it rains again, we'll maybe try it again someday. After the big splashdown, we headed back inside and dried off a bit. Today was an indoor day mostly. Madison watched a Stitch movie again - I think she knows we're planning another trip to Disney. We might be there early next month while a particular sale runs for resort rates. I'll give you a hint at which resort we're looking at this time: Arrrr! More details will follow, of course, but we all certainly need a break from work. Hopefully it won't rain while we're there. But if it does happen to rain, after today, I think we know just what to do!
