Of course, this weekend is the big golf tournament in Augusta, Georgia - not far from here. We've never been big golf fans, but mini-golf? Oh, yes indeed: We're all over mini-golf!
We haven't taken Madison to play mini-golf yet. She's only three, but I think we'll be taking her next month just to try it out. We don't expect anything but fun out of the experience, and that's what mini-golf is supposed to be. Of course, Daddy gets all serious from time to time: checking the wind speed, humidity and texture of the ground. But in the end, he still usually misses - and that's okay. It's all about trying out new mini-golf courses and having a good time.
I think our favorites have to be in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. There's a Hillbilly Golf Course that we've been to a few times. You ride a funicular to get to it - that's a new word Daddy learned last year. I've always called them "inclined railways," but to each his own. In any event, you ride this thing up the side of a mountain, where you play mini-golf on a pretty creative course. Last time, we played at Ripley's Davy Crockett course, which was also pretty cool.
Here locally, there are a few pirate-themed courses. I'm not entirely sure where pirates got the idea to set up golf courses. But I suppose if they're doing well at that, I'm all for it - as opposed to letting them continue to pillage and plunder. Mini-golf is much safer. Unless Daddy has missed another easy shot or something.
The mini-golf courses down at Disney look interesting. We may give them a try next time, and we'll be sure to post pictures of Madison with her golf club. Daddy will have to be her caddy, of course!
