The Game's Afoot!

Today is Sherlock Holmes Day. I have no idea why - I guess that's the mystery. Mommy wrote it down on her "obscure holiday list," and with that in mind, Daddy sat down with Madison to watch "The Great Mouse Detective" this evening with a great big thing of popcorn. She enjoyed it, though we skipped a few of the darker parts of the movie. Afterwards, Daddy spent some time looking up for the blog why exactly it was Sherlock Holmes Day and couldn't find a single reference to it! It's a mystery!

Well, still it was as good a day as any to celebrate the famous detective. Mommy and Daddy have always liked Sherlock Holmes. In fact, before we both met, the two of us had both stayed at what used to be called the Grosvenor Resort nearby the Walt Disney Village. It had references to Sherlock Holmes here and there, and was generally a nice place to stay.

Home was a nice place to stay today - as we didn't do much after church this morning. It was a good morning with the kids, but Daddy was anxious to get home and rest. We went out to get some flowers to plant, and Mommy set out to getting them in the ground this afternoon while the weather was so nice. Seriously, she's done a great job with the side of the house. Daddy will attack the back yard with a weed eater tomorrow - the grass is quite large back there. We'll largely stay around the house tomorrow, getting chores done here or there.

Baba and Nana are coming! In about two weeks, they'll be here to join us for a week or so. They miss Madison, and Madison misses them of course. Each time they call, Madison is on the phone to say hello. She says a lot more than that, typically, but we're never 100% sure of all of it. I'm assuming it's all good. No one exactly knows.

You could say it's a ...mystery!

"How often have I said to you that when you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however impossible, must be the truth?"
-Sherlock Holmes
