Our yearly trip to the Chick-Fil-A Daddy-Daughter Date Night was this evening, and it was a really nice time as always. Maddie got all dressed up, and I wore my Goofy cowboy tie and boots, because the theme of the thing was "Boots and Bows." The usual set-up was there with the red carpet, and lots of dads checking in with their daughters at the front, led to their seating where they could order from the menu. Hmmm.... what to eat? Chicken, perhaps? The waitress was there to serve us, and occasionally we'd get up to go get some pictures at the photo area, like the one you see above. The photographer even took a few Polaroids for us, to Maddie's delight.
All the daughters got a red rose, and a plush cow too! Maddie has a pretty substantial collection of Chick-Fil-A cows now, although this would be the first one she has that wears a pink cowboy hat. It's a nice evening they have arranged for us. There are the pages that have the usual questions to ask your daughter, and the questions to ask your dad too. The "would you rather" questions are always fun too.
We ate a lot, and then on top of that there was dessert, so we were pretty stuffed by the time we left. But the evening was nice, and I'm glad we're still doing this. We saw some others we knew, and in fact sat nearby them.
We've been doing this since 2014! It's been great fun, and I'm not sure when we'll stop, but we both do like doing this. Maddie was dressing up and trying something new with her hair - she looked great!
There was Team Edge practice this morning, and that went well - pretty much three hours of practice time for her and the team as they get ready for their routine in June. They're doing quite a bit of practice, and things are moving forward, forward, forward. They're ready to head back to compete!
Inspired by the western theme at Chick-Fil-A, we watched "Home on the Range" tonight! It's been a while since we've seen this one, and it's a lot of fun. We first saw this actually at a theater in Disney Springs when it first came out. That was quite some time ago, wasn't it?
It was a good day today. Maddie and I got some grocery shopping done, and we picked up some food for Mom from Chick-Fil-A tonight. We closed things out with reading, and with prayers. We've got another fun day planned tomorrow!
