Well, here we are at another Weird Science message, and this morning's experiments were both a fun success. We started out with this mixture of potassium iodide and 12% hydrogen peroxide, which has a nice little reaction particularly when adding some dishwater soap and food coloring. One fun thing to note here is the stand that I have these two chemicals in. This little wooden lab was built by Madison eight and a half years ago, back in November of 2014. Only now is it really coming into its destiny on the big stage at KidPak!
You an see Nerdo, Tytus and Ezra each watching on as they add the two ingredients together, and you can see in the images below the resulting reaction!
The thing is - according to the skit at least - they weren't supposed to do the experiment yet. That's why they're looking quite innocent above, and creating a human wall to shield me from actually seeing what happened.
It was a fun morning. We finally got to use the electrical device too, the one that sends a small current of electricity into you, and if you touch the other side of the device, it finishes the circuit and lights up the device.
You can see above how we actually got a lot of kids from the audience to try it out. It was pretty neat because yes, it actually worked, sending the electricity through a lot of people. I'm not sure the max amount of people, but this circuit was a fairly big one and it worked just fine!
The rest of the day was quiet - we watched a few movies, actually. And had ice cream. We've been sampling the latest premium flavors at Publix, made better by the gluten free cones for Mom. We watched "Mr. Peabody and Sherman" for a little "research" with our upcoming time travel theme. But we also watched "Venom" for the first time, and it was actually not too bad. The three of us actually liked the character quite a bit - both characters. It would be super cool to see some interaction with that character and the other Marvel properties, but we'll see how that goes down the road.
Anyway, we read tonight, and we said our prayers of course. It was a good day. We'll get some rest now.
