Not the Bees!

Sweet corn is here!  We spontaneously bought several ears of the corn yesterday at the grocery store, and my oh my!  What a good investment.  The corn is so good already this year.  This is one of those things you can't wait for each year, and it is so good!  We had a delicious lunch today, a nice meal after church that included the rotisserie chicken and other items.

Church went really well, although there wasn't anyone there to take pictures of it, as they were all upstairs to take pictures of the ones graduating from the Free Chapel College.  Some of the cast were able to watch our friends graduate, which was a special moment.  But then it was time to get on stage for another episode of "Weird Science."  Today's class was a little bit of everything, including a segment called "MYSTERIES OF THE UNIVERSE," which tackles life's biggest questions - the very purpose of science!  Questions like "Why do we park on a driveway and park on a driveway?"  And so on.  We also studied the brain, the left side and right.  Also we looked at different brains, such as alligator brains and whale brains too.  It was kind of fun for everyone, and funny too.  The Wisenheimer invention is back to full steam with all the LED lights blinking and showing everyone what they'd look like on another planet.  It was a full morning!

We caught yet another squirrel this afternoon, so we made another trip to the squirrel sanctuary.  Might as well get some ice cream while we're out, right?  So we used up some Race Trak points and got ourselves three free ice creams, loading up our little cups with frozen yogurt and all the toppings we could manage.  Sunday night was a treat night!

Mom's birthday is tomorrow and she got a new feeder from my sister, which we promptly hung up.  The tufted titmouse and the chickadees are the most brave when it comes to getting new food.  They were already checking out the feeder right away, reaping the benefits!  Maddie saw the shape, and was immediately saying, "NOT THE BEES!"  Anything hexagonal reminds us of WandaVision's beekeeper and the hexagonal shapes that kept showing up throughout the show, with ScreenCrush's suspecting something was up there with that shape and showing Nicolas Cage over and over again, screaming "Not the Bees!"  It's become synonymous with any hexagon sighting in our lives.  You see a hexagon anywhere and the immediate reaction is "NOT THE BEES!"

We were back in a futuristic Disney, following the old Kingdom Keeper crew, but also getting in touch with some of their kids, who seem to have inherited a few new abilities, such as hearing animals, feeling memories, dreaming the future, and a even a bit of super speed.  We're getting used to a few of the characters, like Blair and Eli, although Marty and Lily have been there all along too.  And a host of other characters - it's been a fun read.

After reading, we were ready for bed tonight, saying our prayers and getting ready for bed.  The plush entourage was with us, the whole herd heading down the hall for reading, and then back to Maddie's room.  We're going to have to start using the air conditioner now, as the days are getting warmer.  It's been raining, and that's been one constant this year.  Makes it easier to go to sleep, except for those loud rumbles in the night.
