Baby Dinosaur Puppet

Here's the costume that Mom is working on - the arm looks a little long, but that's because the guy who's wearing it is much taller than I am.  The concept is something we developed, and of course Mom did all the legwork, cutting and sewing, and creating this illusion of a baby dinosaur being carried around.

We got the dinosaur over a year ago, just before we thought we were doing the series.  We've been holding on to it, and finally this week we're getting to use the idea.  Mom spent a good part of the day making this one up.  We were out getting a few things today like the gloves, and picking up the lab jacket there, and the basket too.

Maddie had Team Edge today, which she was doing while we were off shopping.  We were at the thrift store looking for items to use, but while there, I noticed a pretty big record collection.  Fifty cents for records!  I got about twenty of them for ten dollars, and when we got home we were listening to a few of them while doing the costume work, and while Maddie was doing homework and class studies.  She's got a few tests next week, so she was there at the kitchen table studying.  I was doing some writing for KidPak, so today was pretty much a work day, outside of a nice little walk outside to kill another 20-30 of those ginormous yellow spiders.  The joro spider population is massive.  Mom is noticing a lack of moths and butterflies, and I can only assume this is one of the culprits.

There's another big hurricane coming, one named Ida.  This one looks serious, or at least it's strengthening quickly.  It's heading towards Louisiana, so we're not quite sure of the impact on our area directly.  But we'll have to keep an eye on it.

Tomorrow we've got a big day.  We watched a few short streaming things tonight, but not much.  We were reading at bedtime - past four hundred pages of this one book now, and after that we got to bed early tonight after prayers.
