I took Madison over the square after piano to see some of the scarecrows, and it was a brief visit there, but as you can see above there was a new scarecrow set up a little later than the others. Madison was snapping pictures of the scarecrows, including the plague doctor of course.
We did have to get home, because Madison has had a lot of homework this week. Homework and studying. It's all because of this is the last week of the first quarter, and yes, we're already at that time. Currently, before finals, her grades are pretty fantastic. Average them all together and we're somewhere around a 99 average. Yeah, she's doing well. She had one final today, and we'll find out these grades later, but we're not worried. She studied as much as she could.
We had a better day with our other guest, but it's becoming increasingly clear that we'll have to do something. We just don't know what that is. We don't have time to think though, and there's a lot of walking on eggshells with conversations and so forth, and a lot of adjusted behaviors in the house. We'll get through this, but Mommy is doing her best, as are all of us.
We've been watching seasonal movies at night, including "Monsters University" and others. That's been fun at night. Nana is right there with us, even if these things are animated.
Tonight's reading was from the periodic table of elements devotional and the latest Star Wars book. Madison tries to guess the elements based on what their symbol is, and there are some tricky ones coming up. Madison will be pleased to know that the element formerly known as ununseptium is now and forever known as Tennessine, a synthetic element put together in Russia by American and Russian scientists, but named after a favorite destination of Madison's. I can't wait to tell her that. She really wants to go back up there to Tennessee, of course. And so do we. We just have to figure things out with the family first, and then by that time, yes, we'll have a pretty long and restful vacation.
