It was a day of glad tidings, although one that started pretty early, as you can see above. This was a scheduled colonoscopy, something Mommy has to endure in regular intervals because of her history with cancer. The recommended date was some time in May, but as our insurance company is having a war with this hospital system, we had to rush this one and have the procedure done by the end of the year. We may have to move our healthcare to somewhere else, but in the meantime, here we were again. It was rainy this morning, and there was a lake in the parking lot. Fortunately, I dropped Mommy off and she went in where there were only about three other people ready for various procedures - she got in quickly. It's always nice to see all the Christmas decorations there, and friendly faces too. An old familiar face showed up, Dr. Lewis, the one who would do the procedure, and the one who did the surgery for us it seems many years ago now. Mommy went through just fine, with Daddy giving her a kiss as she was off to off limits area. Within a half-hour, Daddy was back in the immediate waiting area, with Mommy rolling in, dozing peacefully. The news was good: nothing to report at all. No news is good news. Dr. Lewis gave us the all clear, having found nothing there to worry about, and letting us know he'd see us in three years for a repeat. Hopefully that will be the case, if this insurance versus hospital war will be over by then. Presently, they are literally sending flyers to all their patients blaming one another for greed and so on. Our health care system is a tangled mess that only God Himself could fix.
We got home, quite at peace with the morning thus far. Nana came over to drop Madison off at school. Jingle Bell had a clue about "bountea hunters," so Madison knew to look over by where we make tea each morning. Snowflake had yet another Crunchie bar for Mommy ready, which was great because she could actually eat it today. Meanwhile Daddy... was getting sick.
The weather seemed to echo that sentiment, dropping in temperature from comfortable to suddenly really cold and windy. We had practice to go to tonight, and it was a long one as we thought, but things are coming together well. Madison did so well tonight, so focused that one of the children handlers gave her this oversized lollipop as a reward for good behavior backstage. We ran through things only about once, including some longer spans with musical numbers. But the bits with Madison and the children were great. She's doing so great. There were some church photographers there taking pictures of the night.
These turned out well! I've been doing a lot of the pictures lately, so it was nice to have someone else come in and take pictures with those nice church cameras. I'm afraid ours may be losing its steam, so it was good to get something nice from practice.
