This morning, Jingle Bell was trying to find a large transport with Admiral Ackbar ... in the garage. Sorry, little guy. Madison the bounty hunter found you again. We're getting close to Christmas though, with all these Advent Calendars running out of dates. It goes by so quickly...
Another Holly rehearsal tonight, and this one fairly substantial. The play is in just two days, so you can imagine things are gearing up quite a bit. We did a few run-throughs, and given the fact that we were able to sleep in this morning - no school today - it wasn't as bad.
Here's Daddy with one of the signature props from the play. It's not worth that much in real life, but it is worth something in the play, and is a symbol of time spent with one another. It was missing for a moment, but Daddy found it and sent this picture home to let Mommy know that we had the watch. Not only that, but Clint - who played the primary role last time we did this play - found the watch from the last time we did the play. So we in fact had three copies of it for the Gainesville production. Mommy has been gathering all these props, and also getting them for the Gwinnett team as well. Meanwhile, Daddy was making props earlier today, some gift bags for a shopping scene. These gift bags needed to have logos for stores, but with the names altered slightly for fun. There were two that were a lot of fun making, only because they are seemingly obscure references to a 1994 Christmas movie. Daddy tried his best to quickly reproduce the logos for two competing stores, Cole's and Shopper's Express. Here's the Cole's logo for the bags:
And here's the logo for Shopper's Express.
No one will really notice this - only the people I point this out to. It's still just fun to put little Easter eggs in there. For example, look at the logo for Belk I put on a bag. Only it's not Belk.
And then there's Old Navy - or rather, "New Navy."
And there is "Spacey's" too...
I did a few more, just because it was fun. But then I had to get back to real work, adjusting and tweaking the script. We've been doing that, so what we had before is not quite what it was before. It's still the same work, but there have been adjustments here and there.
We were there late tonight, and we have practice a bit earlier tomorrow, so not much time for reading. We said our prayers for the production, and for our nation. Yeah, that impeachment thing just keeps going on and on and on. It's historic, but for all the wrong reasons. So no one is paying attention to it. Plus, Christmas might have something to do with that part. Anyway, we were praying tonight, and off to sleep rather quickly. We need to be rested up - it's going to be a big weekend!
