Unruly Dewbacks

The latest episode of "The Mandalorian" must have inspired Jingle Bell to make up this scene that greeted us this morning.  He's obviously having trouble with his dewback.  Madison has her ritual in the morning after getting ready, also finding her "bounty," which is Jingle Bell of course.  Along with that, she finds her chocolate advent calendar and her LEGO Star Wars advent calendar as well.  Mommy has been finding Snowflake, Jingle Bell's reindeer friend - and he's had each day of the month so far a little surprise for Mommy:  a Crunchie Bar!

School is wrapping up for the season, and kids are prepping for midterms coming up while having Christmas parties.  It seems like an odd time to throw a week of midterms upon kids, but there it is I suppose.  Madison will be with the others next week, studying while trying to enjoy the holiday season as well.

Tonight, Daddy came home for a bit before returning to the church.  We're reading from "Prince Caspian" now, and have just met a dwarf friend.  We'll see who he is later on, but the girls are still enjoying this story.  We read from the devotional and said our prayers, and even ate together.  Mommy made Daddy a delicious fish dinner, and soon enough, he had to be off and on his way, because tonight was Christmas Under the Stars.

This is that event the church puts together once a year, one that used to be further south at Lake Lanier Islands.  We'd go down and have a service outdoors, and then see the Christmas lights after that.  Lately though, we've been having a service in our amphitheater here, and then having things available for the kids afterwards, the usual rides and inflatables.  Of course, there's Santa too, and even reindeer.  The music is the thing to come for though, a worship service with Christmas carols and a sweet spirit about the whole thing.  There's even hot chocolate for everyone, which is nice.

It was cold though!  This might be because Queen Elsa was there - and that's who Daddy was hanging around with all night.  Daddy was part of Queen Elsa's Royal Guard, and fortunately that meant getting to be inside quite a bit for pictures and greetings.  That was nice.

Mommy and Madison were still up when getting home.  Madison took a bath and did some studies.  She's gearing up for a big week in many ways, from play practice to tests to a visit from the man with the bag.  Christmas is here again!
